Meet The Team

Thomas Skoumal, DDS, PC

Dr. Thomas Skoumal, or Dr. Tom as his patients call him, grew up in West Des Moines before earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Creighton University.

While still in dental school, Dr. Tom spent a month in the Dominican Republic providing free dentistry for families in the village of Guanabano. He also volunteered in an after hours dental clinic for a number of years while in Omaha, Nebraska.

Starting in 2012, Dr. Tom worked for a practice in Freeport, Il. He has taken over 200 hours of continuing education on various topics such as: Invisalign, dental implants, braces, root canal therapies, occlusal rehabilitation, and many other advanced areas of dentistry. Dr. Tom transitioned into Dr. Charles Kallstrom's practice in Geneva in 2014 and then into Dr. Harry Krauspe's practice in Elburn in 2017. He constantly reinvests in his education and believes the first step in dentistry is to listen to the patient.

Dr. Tom has volunteered his time at the in St. Charles where he provided free dental care for the underserved. Dr. Tom has been active in the Boy Scouts of America community (he is an Eagle Scout with Gold Palms) and is a merit badge counselor for various merit badges, including dentistry. If scouts from any troop have an interest in the dentistry merit badge, he will be more than willing to work with them.

Bridget

Registered Dental Hygienist

Bridget has worked with Dr. Tom since 2018, mostly in the Elburn office, although you will also find her in Geneva on occasion. Bridget graduated from College of DuPage in 2015. Her passion is patient education, and she takes pride in providing a thorough and gentle cleaning every time. Fun fact, Bridget is left-handed, so Elburn patients, if that hygiene room looks different it’s because the chair has been turned to accommodate a left-handed practitioner!

The youngest of 6 children, Bridget has 9 nieces and 3 nephews, and a lot of her free time is spent with her large family. Other than that, she can be found chilling at home with her black cat, Kobe.

Christi

Registered Dental Hygienist

Christi joined our team in 2017. She graduated from Southern Illinois University’s dental hygiene program in 1998. You will find Christi to be compassionate, able to put her patients at ease and ensure a positive dental experience. She lives in St. Charles wit her husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Christi enjoys all things in the tri city area from river walks to prairie paths to sporting events on her days off.

Diane

Registered Dental Hygienist

Diane has been a hygienist for 20 years and she joined Dr. Tom’s practice in September of 2018. Her favorite part of working with Dr. Tom is building trust and relationships with her patients while educating them and encouraging good oral care. She has two little girls who keep her very busy! Outside of work Diane enjoys taking her girls on new adventures and exploring new parts of the country. She also enjoys outdoor sports and working out.

Kathy

Office Manager

The first smiling face to greet you at Dr. Thomas Skoumal's office is Kathy. She keeps the office running smoothly with her reception, clerical and billing duties. Kathy enjoys interacting with each and every patient who walks through the door, and is especially good at making them feel comfortable when they arrive for their appointment.

Kathy has been with the dental practice since 2005 when she joined Dr. Kallstrom, and now currently enjoys working with Dr. Tom. She thinks Dr. Tom is an excellent dentist and her kids love him! Kathy is married with three beautiful children and spends her free time with them. Kathy enjoys working with the great staff and finds her job fun and rewarding.

Trisha

Office Manager, Elburn

Trisha began her dental career as a chairside assistant when she was a junior in high school. After several years of working chairside she moved to the front desk in the 90’s and has been keeping the office running smoothly ever since. Trisha was excited to join Dr. Duke Krauspe when he opened his solo practice in Elburn in 1995-and Dr. Tom inherited her when he purchased the practice in 2017. You will find her at her desk in Elburn most days, and once a week or so helping out in the Geneva office as well. Her favorite part of the job is by far the relationship with the patients-some of whom she met as children, who now bring their own kids into the office. Trisha and her husband have three amazing grown daughters of their own, and they are still getting used to the quiet of being empty nesters. But the dog and the cats do their best to keep things interesting!

Dalia

Dental Assistant

Dalia has been in the dental field for over 19 years as a dental assistant. She went to Elgin Community College for her certification in coronal polishing and fluoride. She likes to keep the office organize and enjoys helping Dr. Tom create smiles. The smile of patients before leaving the office is the most important thing to her. Outside of work, Dalia is a mother of two daughters and one son. She enjoys working out, going out to eat, and bowling with her family.

Luis

Dental Assistant

Luis assists Dr. Tom in our Elburn office. His hobbies include traveling to new places and experimenting with new foods. After earning his dental degree in Mexico City, he decided to come back to the States to be close to his family, especially his nephew, Jacob. One of his favorite things is to help people thru dentistry, so his next goal is to get is dental license here in Illinois. Then he can achieve his dream of helping people feel comfortable with their teeth and smile.
